Why I Do What I Do

March 24, 2017

The youth that we service more likely don't have positive influences in their lives, that's what we are! We teach them how to strive to be the best they can be for themselves and others! We teach them daily and life skills that they don't know, in order to be Not just good but great citizens!

I have a PERSONAL goal and it's to help change the statistics of youth in jail.

People always ask me why I work with "bad kids" and tell me the only good place for them is "jail!" I do what I do so that way I can teach to the youth, and correct any behavior that is not deemed appropriate within our society so that way when they walk into your store, restaurant, or place of employment they act like fine young men and women!

I recently witnessed a woman disrespecting a cashier because her coupon wouldn't work. This is a situation where this woman was not taught skills to handle situations appropriately.

We correct negative behaviors so the youth in our care learn and so these "bad kids" won't end up in Jail.  Our youth end up being your boss!!

Brittney Scheer works in our Transitions Family Style Group Homes with youth sent to us by caseworkers, probation officers and judges. She works with both boys and girls. Brittney is also a wonderful mother of 4 beautiful children.

We congratulate Brittney is our featured guest blogger for March.
